    Mechatronic System Designer

    Introduction

    The R&D department of the company is responsible for the specification, design, and integration of high-tech mechatronic machine modules, professional systems, and capital-intensive equipment, all under one roof. The department operates within a state-of-the-art production facility equipped with cutting-edge machinery to manufacture any designed product. T&D comprises several competence groups, including Mechanics, Mechatronics, Electronics, Software, Flow & Thermal, and Project Management. Working within multidisciplinary project teams, we specify, design, develop, and qualify modules and products for our customers, which we subsequently supply to them.

    Job description

    As a Designer of Mechatronic Systems your primary responsibility is to specify, design, and deliver system functions, such as a store unit or electron beam lens. You will oversee your function, which may involve complex mechanical assemblies or fully integrated systems, from design to production, assembly, and testing. Critical factors for success in this role include ensuring manufacturability, cost-effectiveness, reliability, and technical performance. In this position, you will conduct trade-off studies and provide guidance on the preferred implementation scenario for the system. You will also review the designs of your colleagues and act as an owner of your modules throughout the project.

    What do we expect from you?

    The ideal candidate should have:

    • A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree
    • At least 3 years of relevant experience in hi-tech, precision machinery, contamination control, and vacuum systems
    • An eagerness to define concepts, functions, and interfaces
    • An accurate, flexible, and motivated approach to facing challenges
    • Strong teamwork skills, including the ability to work effectively with clients, consortium partners, and suppliers
    • An entrepreneurial spirit and a desire to help build a company
    • The ability to handle time pressure, budget constraints, and set priorities efficiently
    • Good communication skills and proficiency in English
    • Analytical, pragmatic, creative, proactive, and motivated to face challenges.
